Ray is a magnetic sensor, that enables you to accurately determine the location and orientation of magnetic objects (think about a magnetic coin). It is great for a which-hand routine, but we are going to introduce more ideas in our documentation.
If it senses a magnetic field, PeekSmith or your mobile phone can vibrate to let you know in which hand has hidden the spectator the magnetic coin or which envelope contains an object with a magnet.
And Ray has more features. We have added a highly responsive motion sensor and an accelerometer to detect movement and the orientation of the device. For now, we are using it to improve magnetic sensing capabilities, but we are dedicated to figuring out how we can use it for other purposes (the obvious: simply use it for motion detection).
Ray enables the detection of magnetic objects from a closed fist at distances of up to 20 cm (the range can vary based on the strength of the object, and the magnetic field around it), however, it is very reliable according to our tests. A quick gesture at their hand is enough to get reading. Ray can also detect the orientation of the object (heads or tails if we are talking about a coin).
Ray does not vibrate on its own but works with the PeekSmith app, and PeekSmith 3 in standalone mode. We think it is a feature that near to the spectator the device remains silent, and your phone or PS3 can tell you the information in the most convenient way.
Ray is based on Spotted Dice 2 technology, which is one of our core technologies. We are dedicated to improving it and adding as many new features as possible. You know us. Expect some regular updates in the upcoming months.

You will know which card the deck was cut at, or how many objects picked up – in a blink. SoulMate is a precise, fast and smart. It goes beyond the 0.01g precision, measure in less than a second and the maximum weight is not 300g or 500g, but 2 kg! PeekSmith 3 can connect to SoulMate directly, displaying the information in color on its larger high-resolution screen for your convenience. This will also allow you to use the device for many hours.
SoulMate isn’t the first smart scale for magicians, but it’s the pioneer in extreme precision and speed, delivering measurements at a milligram (0.001g) level. It quickly and accurately measures cards or objects. With Bluetooth and update-friendly firmware, we’ll keep making it better with new features and improvements.
While SoulMate is a capable product on its own, it also has Bluetooth to enable more routines with the ScaleSmith app by Benke Smith (we are open to working with app developers to integrate SoulMate).
