Quantum + PeekSmith 3: peek and control
This solution explains how to use your Quantum Calculator together with PeekSmith 3.
With this setup, Quantum can send everything typed to PeekSmith 3 for a discreet live peek, and PeekSmith 3 can even control Quantum’s force mode remotely.
What You Need
- Quantum Calculator (charged and turned on)
- PeekSmith 3 (charged and turned on)
- PeekSmith app (latest version, iOS or Android)
Step 1 - Configure Quantum in the PeekSmith App
- Open the PeekSmith app on your phone.
- Go to Devices and connect to your Quantum Calculator.
- Tap on the Quantum settings.
- Scroll to the Force section.
- Turn on PeekSmith Peek.
Now Quantum will send its input and results directly to PeekSmith 3.
Step 2 - Configure Force Options (Optional)
Inside the Force section of Quantum’s settings, you can fine-tune how Quantum and PeekSmith 3 interact:
- Default Force Number – choose the number Quantum will force when force mode is enabled.
- Allow PS3 to Control Force Mode – if turned on, PeekSmith 3’s buttons can toggle force mode during a performance.
- Slide Switch Toggles Force Mode – allows you to use Quantum’s physical slide switch to enable or disable force mode quickly.
Step 3 - Connect PeekSmith 3
- Turn on your PeekSmith 3.
- On the app’s Devices screen, connect to PeekSmith 3.
- Once both Quantum and PeekSmith 3 are listed as connected, the peek link is ready.
From now on, Quantum’s entries and results will appear on PeekSmith 3 without needing the phone during performance.
Step 4 - Using Peek and Control
- Peeking: Anything typed on Quantum will appear line by line on PeekSmith 3, including the final result when you press =.
- Controlling Force: If enabled, PeekSmith 3’s top button can toggle force mode on or off.
- Slide Switch: If enabled, flipping Quantum’s slide switch will toggle force mode.
This gives you full flexibility: peek the spectator’s inputs and secretly influence the final outcome.
Performance Flow
- Spectator performs calculations on Quantum.
- You see every entry and result mirrored discreetly on PeekSmith 3.
- At any time, you can toggle Force Mode using PeekSmith 3’s button or Quantum’s slide switch.
- The spectator’s final result matches your force number – or remains free, depending on your control.
Troubleshooting
- Nothing shows on PeekSmith 3: Make sure PeekSmith Peek is enabled in Quantum’s Force settings.
- Force doesn’t activate: Check if “Allow PS3 to Control Force Mode” is turned on, or use the slide switch instead.
- Lag or missing digits: Stay close – Bluetooth range is about 5-10 meters.
